Vintage Sterling Silver Brooch Pin Faceted Red Blue Glass Floral Rhinestone READ

  

This is a pre-owned, unsigned, vintage (circa 1940's) brooch marked sterling and acid tested as such. This piece is approximately 2.75 inches long and just under 2 inches wide (SEE PHOTOS). The brooch is in relatively good vintage condition with age appropriate wear to the back (SEE PHOTOS) and the silver has a rich patina-not unexpected with a piece of this age. It is an unusual piece, designed to resemble a partially opened flower. It features a large, deep.

Dark red faceted glass center that is "caged" by sterling sepals. The "leaves" are prong set, faceted rich blue colored glass with clear rhinestones as accents. There ARE several issues to be aware of. It is missing several (clear) rhinestones (SEE PHOTOS). The small rhinestones at the top of the "sepals" have yellowed/clouded over the years.

It appears that at some point, the pin mechanism was replaced (SEE PHOTOS), and this has resulted in a slight "stiffness" of the hinge-but it opens/closes as it should, though the pin stem has a slight bend. Please review the photos and feel free to ask questions.
