The silver tray has a rectangular form with rounded corners; the surface of the tray is plain and unembellished. The rim of the tray is encompassed with an impressive applied gadroon decorated border accented with scrolling leaf designs to the corners.
Either end of the tray features an impressive cast silver handle ornamented with reed decoration and an enveloping leaf design to the handpiece. This exceptional set is fitted to the original and desirable hinged leatherette presentation box with satin and velvet lined interior. The impressive double hinged cover of the box secures with a hinge catch, and the interior of each retains the retailer's mark'Aitchison, To Her Majesty the Queen, Court Jewellers, 80 Princes St Edinburgh'.
