This piece dates to the early 1900s and was made by Watson. The silver basket has a beautiful pierced design, with vertical cuts and overlapping circles. The basket sits on four flattened ball feet, and has two handles at the top. The front of the basket has an oval shaped cartouche, which has never been monogrammed. The glass liner is made from thick clear glass, with a rayed star design cut into the bottom. This piece is in excellent condition. Any black you see in the photos is leftover from polishing, and will clean off very easily. The silver basket is stamped on the underside with the maker's mark for Watson Company, as well as sterling and 3651. The dish is about 7 inches in diameter, measured from handle to handle, and is about 4 5/8 inches tall at the highest point of the handle. The total weight for both the glass liner and the silver is 955 grams.
The weight of just the sterling silver is 173.5 grams or 6.1 regular ounces. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution.
