F. M. Whiting Co. Sterling Silver Dish Basket with Pressed Butterflies in Glass

  

This is a beautiful dish or basket with a glass center and sterling pierced border and handle. It has butterflies and foliage pressed between two pieces of glass.

The handle is reticulated and the hinges are in good condition. It is marked on the side rim with "makers mark" "Sterling" and "8865". I do not see any damage to the sterling other than it is slightly tarnished and could use a nice polishing. There are no chips or cracks in the glass and is in beautiful shape. It is approximately 6 1/2" in diameter, and 4" tall including the handle.
