6 7/8" - 7 1/8" (inside circumference). Just over 1/8" - 3/8". It's all about the light and shimmer in this set of 1930s bangles. Its minimal sterling silver setting allows the channel set glass to take center stage and emanate light from every angle. An Art Deco classic, the stamped floral designs along the bracelet's outer edge-a subtle yet distinctive Art Deco detail-is well matched on each piece, combining together for a shimmering showstopping set. Bright patina with minimal surface wear to the setting. Fresh sheen, light surface wear and crisp faceting, a few tiny chips here and there on the set that are small and noticeable only on very close inspection. All stones are intact and in place. Foiling is bright without darkening or discoloration.

Clasp is original and secure on all three pieces. Shimmer has been a key element of jewelry design and the way gemstones are cut for centuries - as well as an indication of quality. For example, the bezel-set brilliant cut was developed to enhance the light-reflecting qualities of gemstones, like diamonds in the light. In addition during the Georgian era, the rose cut diamond became popular as the cut sparkled beautifully in candlelight.

Facets, special raised prong and open back settings, and movement all serve to promote play with light and make for stunning pieces. Art Deco is one of the first truly international styles, that influenced the design of buildings, furniture, fashion and of course, jewelry. The movement was given a name from the international exposition of Arts Decoratifs et Industriels Modernes, that was held in Paris in 1925 and largely dedicated to the jewelry arts.

Born out of ideas of modernism and the Industrial Age, this manifested into designs that used Cubism's bold abstraction and rectilinear shapes and combined them with intricate patterning, bold color and symmetry. High-end jewelry design houses like Cartier and Boucheron set the trends in gold and gemstones, which were then emulated by costume jewelry companies in glass or perhaps plastics, and brought to the masses. _gsrx_vers_1436 GS 9.0.5 (1436).
