Gorgeous Gorham Crimson Red Glass Sterling Silver Overlay Perfume Bottle 6 1/2in

  

Presented is a gorgeous crimson glass perfume bottle with sterling silver overlay from Gorham. This piece displays scrolls and flowers engraved throughout the piece on the body of the bottle and the lid.

The silver is thick and creates a heavy overlay. The piece has a large cartouche on one side of the silver that has been monogrammed AHR in a flowing script.

The silver is tested and guaranteed sterling silver or higher. The overlay is marked Gorham manufacturing Company as well as with a patent number and date.

The glass has not been marked with a maker, but both the base and the lid has been etched with 53 to represent a match between the two pieces. The bottle is in great overall condition. There is a small break in the sterling overlay on the lid.

It appears as if this broken silver has gotten stuck underneath the overlay. This can be seen in the final photo. The silver is securely attached to the glass except for one tiny lift.

When polishing, make sure you are careful to not lift the silver. There are no breaks or cracks in the glass. There are no other breaks in the silver, and no repairs. The reflections can look like lines or cracks, this bottle has been very carefully looked over and there are no crack anywhere.
