A beautiful vanity jar made by Gorham Silver Company of Providence, RI. Gorham is very well known and produced many of the flatware patterns used at the White House. Gorham is also associated with a lot of beautiful glass from the American Brilliant Period, when they used sterling silver mounts on decanters, candle holders, jars and other things. The jar and lid are in good shape. There is a patina that is typical of silver and age.
With proper restoration it will shine brilliantly. The detailed scrollwork is beautiful and detailed. There is minimal aging and wear from use.Please see photos for condition.
