Antique Art Deco Sterling Silver Riviere Paste Amethyst Crystal Glass Bib Necklace. Dates to the late Art Deco era, circa 1920. Crafted in sterling silver and marked as such.
Does bear a maker's mark (photographed) but it's difficult to make out. Fairly certain it contains the letter'A' and possibly an'S'.
I can not begin to tell you how thrilled I was when I found this necklace. And I was even more overjoyed to discover that it was still ALL ORIGINAL!The necklace has 17 prong & basket set amethyst glass'stones' - all are french-cut of deep purple glass, in two sizes. The necklace chain portion consists of 10 etched lozenge links, each joined with fetter chain links. The necklace measures just 15.5 from end to end with the box clasp secured, so it's meant to sit right at the nape of the neck.
The drape or bib portion measures approximately 1 from top to bottom. This piece weighs 11.79 grams.
Condition is very good, with no repairs noted. Minor nicks or wear to the'stones'. This necklace came to me absolutely black with tarnish, so it has been cleaned and lightly polished to show off it's true beauty.
It would absolutely sparkle if fully and properly polished up it's original shine. Other Information Canadian Residents - GST will be applied to final item price.
