Art Deco sterling silver blue guilloche enamel cut-glass perfume scent bottle

  

Beautiful Art Deco globular-cut glass table scent bottle with a wonderfully ornate royal blue guilloche enamel top. The perfume bottle is hand-cut with a reeded and foliate design and retains its original retail marks to the star-cut base. The sterling silver top is gold-washed and has a hinged lid.

The inside is also gilded and it is fitted with the original glass stopper with polished rounded finial. The top of the lid has a round fluted shape and is covered in rich jewel-tone blue.

A finely detailed engine-turned and scrolling foliate design can be seen beneath the enamel. Made by Albert Carter and fully hallmarked for Birmingham, 1929. 10 cm tall 7.5 cm diameter at widest point. Great condition, no damage to enamel, original stopper present. Some wear to gilt commensurate with age and use.
