Excellent Antique Sterling Silver Overlay Glass Coaster Trivet 6 U Mono

  

Presented is a fine quality sterling silver overlay trivet, dating to the late 1800s or early 1900s. This trivet was made made in America, and is unsigned though the quality of the work suggests a high end maker. The sterling silver overlay is quite thick, done in an interwoven scrollwork design surrounding a center cartouche. The cartouche is engraved with a monogram of U in Gothic lettering.

This trivet is in great overall condition. There are no losses to the sterling silver overlay. The underside of the glass has some surface abrasions/shelf wear, as you'd expect. There are no breaks to the glass, no monogram removals, and no repairs. This piece measures about 6 inches in diameter.
