Exquisite Antique Georgian Foiled Glass Paste Silver Necklace Brooch Pin Parure

  

A fabulous antique Georgian 18th century silver, pink and white paste drop pendant necklace (on an Art Deco 9K white gold chain) and brooch parure in an antique fitted box. In Georgian times paste jewelry became very popular with finely cut glass used to represent diamonds and other jewels which glowed and sparkled the same way in candlelight. This exquisite silver set necklace and brooch parure consists of a beautiful triple drop pendant necklace with closed back central foiled pink paste stones representing pink topaz surrounded by gorgeous glittering clear paste stones representing diamonds and all set in a wonderful openwork floral setting and attached to an Art Deco period long solid 9K white gold chain together with a matching brooch with a larger pink paste stone and further white paste stones set in a lovely floral scrolling silver setting. The drops are separated on chain links which makes the pendant glitter and shimmer wonderfully whenever the head is turned.

The parure is displayed in an antique Victorian era fitted white leather, velvet and silk box. The chain is marked'9' and tests for 9K gold. The pendant measures approximately 2 1/4 inches x 5/8 inches.

The chain measures about 31 inches. The brooch measures about 22mm x 19mm with the pink paste stone measuring approximately 10mm x 8mm. The parure has a total weight of approximately 10.8 grams. The pendant, brooch and chain and in very good condition with light general wear.

All the stones are present, a couple of the paste stones look to have been replaced with diamonds. The box has some wear, the hinge is strong and it closes securely.
