Title: Rare 1913 Edwardian Sterling Silver & Cut Glass 3-Piece Toiletry Trio - Curated by Finnigans Ltd Benefit: 100% of proceeds from this sale directly benefit the American Cancer Society. This historic trio was originally commissioned and retailed by the ultra-luxury British department store Finnigans Ltd of Manchester, famous for supplying high society and royalty with elite travel gear.
What makes this set incredibly unique to antique collectors is how Finnigans curated it. They brought together matching engine-turned lids across three distinct premier British silversmiths of the era to form a unified suite. Central Scent Bottle: Features a screw-cap with the internal maker's mark for Thomas Jones Watson (London, 1913) alongside the original internal cork/rubber travel seal. The glass body showcases an intricate, geometric starburst cut-glass base. The body of the glass has an etched garland. Flanking Vanity Jars: Feature push-down lids crafted by renowned makers Charles Daniel Broughton (Birmingham, 1913) and Sibray, Hall & Co (Sheffield, 1913) over paneled glass bodies. They also have an intricate, geometric starburst cut-glass base. The bodies of the bottles have etched garlands. The Glass: There are larger, visible chips on the bottom of the larger bottle, along with scattered minor "flea bite" nicks across the glass bodies of all three pieces.
The one perfume bottle on the left looking at the photos is missing it's screw ring. The Silver: The sterling lids exhibit expected small dents, fine surface wear lines, and a natural antique tarnish patina. The floral and cross hatching design on all three lids show wear. The silver caps have a healthy combined weight of 2.9 oz (82g).
Please take into consideration the one cap does have a liner and the bottle ring can't be weighed. Thus the weight given is not exact but it is for informational use. Please review the photos carefully as they form part of the condition description. Also note some of the photos were lightened to show detail.
